Guided Relaxation Meditation - Written by Wendy StokesWritten by Wendy Stokes Presented by Sonia Parker, The Spiritual Centre Please do not drive whilst performing this meditation Welcome to your Guided Relaxation Meditation. Before we start, please ensure you will not be interrupted for 15 minutes. Find yourself a quiet place where you will feel comfortable and be able to relax. Close your eyes …. Take a long deep breath in through the nose, exhale slowly through the mouth, allowing your mind to settle, to be still and to be free from the thoughts of the day. This is your time, a time for you to build an inner world which will heal and serve you. This inner world builds within your minds eye. As you start to concentrate on your breathing you will begin to feel your body relax. Allow your body and mind to be at rest, be free and without stress. Allow your breathing to return to normal... Recall a time when you felt deeply content and at rest… Imagine looking at yourself at a time when you were relaxed and contented… Recall this time... and bring the feelings of relaxation within your body and mind… Increase the level of your enjoyment… You feel such relief… Just let your body go limp and your mind unwind… Give yourself permission to fully relish this experience… Take your attention to the soles of your feet and relax the muscles, then your calves and thighs, your lower back and shoulders, all relaxing, your stomach muscles and chest area, your next, head, brow, mouth and jaw, all relaxing.. letting go of stress and tension in your body... As we go through this meditation take notice of any areas of your body that need extra attention. Scan your body for any places where you feel tension and allow release… Allow your mind to be free from thoughts... If you hear any noises from outside, they do not involve you. Just let go now of tension… Savor each moment… Go deeper now into a place of peace and pleasure… Notice the feeling of deep comfort… You are pleasantly warm… and more and more comfortable… Let go even more now… You are safe here… You are becoming profoundly relaxed… If you would like to, you can double the intensity of this experience… Spend a few more minutes at rest and recuperation… You are feeling your mind revitalize, your emotions replenish their strength, and your body rejuvenate… You feel enraptured and enlivened... Stay in this place of recovery for a few more moments… Thank your body and mind of their co-operation… Shortly, you will return your attention to the room, but as you return, you will store the remembrance of this feeling… Your attention is returning to the here and now, slowly bring yourself back to the room. Wriggle your fingers and toes and when you are ready open your eyes.… Your mind feels fully alert and refreshed and your body feels restored. Spend a moment stretching and yawning. Give your head and neck a little massage and pat the shoulders, arms, back and legs with the palms of your hands. ” Presented by Sonia Parker, The Spiritual Centre
